Important match will be played in this edition of the ICC Champions Trophy; Bangladesh will face the Kiwis in a do or die encounter at the Sophia Gardens on Friday 9th June 2017.
Bangladesh and New Zealand both need a win this contest to stay alive in this tournament.
Bangladesh lost against England in their opening match and against Australia, the match was abandoned due to rain.
For New Zealand it’s the same story. Their opening match against Australia was abandoned and they lost against England.
So these teams need to play out for their skins to stay alive in the tournament.
Bangladesh has defeated New Zealand in an ODI series played in Ireland. This should boost the confidence of the Bangla tigers.
On the other hand The Kiwis won’t make a mistake of taking the Bangladeshis lightly. They now what the Bangladeshis players did to them in Ireland.
For Bangladesh their opener Tamim Iqbal has batted like star. His magnificent knock of 128 against England and his alone hand of 95 against Australia should charge him up more.
But their link weak is bowling. Mustifizur Rahaman isn’t firing for them. He is their main bowler. Even all-rounder Shakib Ul Hasan is silent with the bat and not as threatening with the ball.
Bangladesh needs these two to fire in this crunch game.
New Zealand has been very reliant on their skipper Kane Williamson. All looks good when he is on the crease but when he gets out all looks vulnerable. Kiwis need batsmen like Martin Guptill, Ross Taylor, Corney Anderson and James Neesham to fire in this match.
Their bowling looks ok, against Australia they were on the mark but the England batsmen took their bowlers apart. It’s important for Southee, Boult, Anderson and Neesham to make a mark with their bowling.
If New Zealand wants to stay alive in this tournament they need to show their all round skills and the same goes with Bangladesh as well.

Playing XI of New Zealand –
The Kiwis might go with the same playing eleven that faced England.
Kane Williamson (captain), Corey Anderson, Trent Boult, Neil Broom, Colin de Grandhomme, Martin Guptill, Tom Latham, Mitchell McClenaghan, Adam Milne, James Neesham, Jeetan Patel, Luke Ronchi (wicketkeeper), Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee, Ross Taylor.
Playing XI of Bangladesh –
Bangladesh should include Taskin Ahmed in place of Imrul Kyes. In this crunch game Bangladesh needs to strength their bowling attack. Imrul Kyes hasn’t batted well in both games. Including Taskin Ahmed in the squad will help Bangladesh to bowl well. Taskin is good with the new ball too; he can be the perfect partner for struggling Mustifizur Rahaman and Rubel Hossain.
Mashrafe Mortaza (captain), Imrul Kayes, Mahmudullah, Mehedi Hasan, Mosaddek Hossain, Mushfiqur Rahim (wicketkeeper), Mustafizur Rahman, Rubel Hossain, Sabbir Rahman, Shafiul Islam, Shakib Al Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Sunzamul Islam, Tamim Iqbal, Taskin Ahmed.
