Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have gunned down Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists SajjadMaqbool Bhat and Tauseef who were allegedly involved in Pulwama attack on 14 February on CRPF convoy.
Both terrorists were neutralized in an encounter at Anantnag in South Kashmir.
A security personnel was martyred and the two most wanted terrorists were killed in the encounter which occurred on Tuesday. The forces recovered weapons and warlike stores.
Acting on an input about the presence of terrorists in Bijbehara area of the south Kashmir district, security forces launched a cordon and search operation on that morning.
The search turned into an encounter after the terrorists opened fire on the security forces, they retaliated. The exchange of fire was underway till Tuesday late afternoon.
The encounter came a day after an Army Major Ketan Sharma and a terrorist were killed during an encounter in the district.
Family of the martyred Major Ketan Sharma was seen with army personnel as they mourn his demise, at their residence in KankerKhera.
Last week, a lone Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist attacked a patrol team of the paramilitary force in Anantnag, which killed five CRPF personnel.
A Jammu and Kashmir police officer, who had reached the attack site shortly, was also sprayed with bullets the moment he had stepped out of his bullet-proof vehicle. He was flown to Delhi AIIMS, but died on Sunday.
