Dangal received an incredible response from the audience in China as is evident from the collections made by the film in the neighbouring country. Dangal’s earning in China crossed 1 Billion RMB which is equal to 1,000 crore Indian rupees.
The film stayed at the top of Chinese box office for a fortnight after which it slipped just one position. Dangal is still being played at 9,000 screens all over China. It has become the 33rd film in Chinese cinema history to cross the 1 Billion RMB mark.
Moreover, the success of the film has made Aamir Khan the most popular Indian social media star in China with over 6.5 lakh followers. In an interview to a news agency Aamir said, “While we were hoping that Dangal connects with the people of China, not in our wildest dreams we thought that this is the kind of connect we would have. It was unprecedented. We are pleasantly surprised”.
The movie was released in China a month ago. The positive response from the viewers in China will definitely open a new market for other Indian movies as well.
