Amidst reports of soon-to-tie the knot with rumored girlfriend Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor while asked about his ‘relationship status’ by Karan Johar on his chat show Koffee with Karan, surprising everyone he admitted, “No, I am not single”.
Arjun’s candid answer left sister Jahnvi, who was also appeared on the show with brother, and host Karan momentarily speechless.
Quick to recover and break the silence, KJo rapidly quizzed him further on the subject that ‘when he would be introducing this aspect of his life to his family?’
And without pausing for a moment Arjun joined the chat, saying, “Clearly, it has just happened!” pointing towards his sister-actor Janhvi Kapoor.
On the other hand, Janhvi who still looking stunned by her brother-actor Arjun’s revelation, said, “Yeah it has been introduced on this show”.
Earlier in an interview with a leading daily, Arjun had admitted that on his 33rd birthday, his grandmother, Nirmal Kapoor, issued a ‘threat and a request, a bribe and a command’ that he get married.
Laughing, he answered, “Dadi has never articulated her feelings so firmly. Before this, it was all said in jest, this time she’s put a tick to it, and since she has few expectations from me, he intend to fulfill this demand at the right time with the right person.”
However, quickly he add that he would like his sister Anshula and cousin Rhea to settle down first. “Besides, there have just been two weddings (Mohit Marwah and Sonam Kapoor) and we should give the family time too, else they’ll get tired of attending weddings. Mujhe bas thodi si mohlat de do (just give me some time), please!,” he added. And since, Arjun have been very much opened about his relationship and his lady love by way of public appearances.
Coming back to Karan’s Chat show, when Arjun was asked the most obvious question, “So are you open to marriage?’
Surprisingly, he answered, “Yes, now I am. Earlier I was not”.
Later, Karan has concluded the show saying ‘Hope it happen soon’— which indicating very clearly that Arjun and Malaika is going to tie the knot very soon.
