Angira Dhar, the girl whom we adored in Ronnie Screwvala’s ‘Love per square Foot’, believes she was destined to be an actress.
Angira started her journey in acting with the popular web-series ‘Bang Baaja Baraat’, which was the story about a couple trying to hitch the knot despite societal problems. Angira was featured as a woman who enjoys what she did.
However, this is not new to her, as she herself is just like that, who enjoys her own company.
But after ‘Love per square foot’, where did the girl has vanished? What is she doing now-a-days? Then let us tell you, the power girl is not vanished yet! Rather she is coming up with a big surprise for her fans.
In fact, she has already started prepping her up for his next biggie ‘Talaagh’, which will be directed by Anurag Kashyap. And yes, that would be an international one, in which Angira will share her screen space with another internationally acclaimed actor.
Though, the makers have not revealed the name of another actor yet. After two web-series, it’s not that easy to bagging a big project helming by a filmmaker like Anurag Kashyap. But, the girl has nailed it.
Earlier in an interview she explained her journey from being spotted by Shanu Sharma, the casting director of Yashraj Films, outside the famous Prithvi Theatre in Mumbai to being the leadin lady in Ronni’s ‘Love per square foot’ has been a learning experience for her.
Taking about one life lesson that she will never forget, she recollects the words of her close friend and director Anand Tiwari, as he said to her “Acting is done through your soul. It is all about being transparent. It is about letting your character speak through you, despite you.”
That is something that she is going to keep with her for rest of her acting career and for the rest of her life, she added.
Angira’s love and passion for cinema is not new which was dating back to her school days. As she told, she was always found frames interesting, especially during exams. Talking about how much she used to abhor math, she unfolded a secret that, she used to hate math.
Angira shared an interesting incident of her school days. During exam, once she was zoned out in math exam, just because she was staring at a boy in the class, not in a romantic way exactly, but more in a cinematic way. She was lost not because of the guy’s look, but for a shaft of light which was beautifully falling on him and she was missed out most of her math paper because she spent over an hour to look how gorgeous that frame was!
Angira was always told that she had to complete her studies before entering the entertainment field. Taking about her first break in B-Town she said that she always agreed with her parents’ mind-set about the importance of a degree.
Angira further opined, “While acting was something that I wanted to do always and forever, I had never planned my career in acting,” because, Angira belongs to an academic family where kids are expected to grow up to, get jobs and live the conventional way, much like her parents.
The actress also stressed that her family always told her that she had to complete her degrees before starting her career as an actress, and she did it. She said, “Entering the entertainment field was not planned, it just happened to by a quirky of fate.”
Well, all we can say is that the girl is lucky enough that she met her dream-job in an unplanned way.
