The Information and Broadcasting Ministry constituted the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) society on Wednesday.
Actor Kangana Ranaut, director Rajkumar Hirani, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra and singer Anup Jalota have been nominated among other members.
Their nominations comes after the appointment of veteran actor Anupam Kher as the President of the Film & Television Institute of India (FTII) Society and Chairman of its Governing Council in October last year. It’s been almost one year.
Under the category of ‘Persons of Eminence’ actor Kangana Ranaut, actor Arvind Swami, actor Divya Dutt, Malayalam singer KJ Yesudas, singer Anup Jalota, TV producer and filmmaker Bijendra Pal Singh, actor-producer-director Satish Kaushik and academician Archana Rakesh Singh have been nominated as members of the FTII Society.
Nominations for two other categories are also revealed on that same day.
While another category titled ‘FTII Alumni’ figured filmmakers like Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra, veteran actor Danny Denzongpa including cinematographer Mahesh Aney, on the other hand ‘Expert Representing the Activities of the Central Government’ features Dr. N Sarvana, Joint secretary, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resources of Development; Raveesh Kumar, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson and Chaitanya Prasad, ADG, Directorate of Film Festivals, have been nominated as the members of FTII Society.
The reports also added that the tenure of the non-official members of the institute including the President (refers to Mr. Anupam Kher) will be for the block of three years, begging from March 4, 2017.
