On the other, one more name from Bollywood film fraternity freshly came out with this tag, who is none other than a famous director from Bollywood, Subhash Ghai. This month we have read chilling and horrifying experiences about sexual assault and abuse.
Following Tanushree Dutta’s accusation, many women have come forward and called out men like Vikash Bahl, Alok Nath, Rajat Kapoor and Kailash Kher for unwarranted advances and molestation. An anonymous woman shared her nightmarish experience. She says that while working with Subhash Ghai o a film many years ago, the director drugged and raped her.
She wrote in her post, “In the beginning, he would take me to his music recordings and she would have to sit there still very late at night with other male members. When recording finished, she took an auto home or the director drop her to her home. He slowly started putting his hand on her thighs, giving her big hug saying that she did well that day. The director used to call her at his home where his wife didn’t stay with him. One evening Ghai decided have a drink and he gave her a drink as well. It was spiked. After the drink, Ghai led her towards his car. She thought that he might drop her to home, but instead of that the director took her to a hotel room. Then he took off her jeans and mounted on her. “I was trying to scream, but he put his hand over her mouth. I cried and passed out”, she said.
After the incident that women took a few days off and threatened that if she would leave the project in midway she won’t get her payment! Though, director Ghai has issued a statement denying the allegations.
Recently, the #MeToo movement has entered into the cricket arena too. The latest to come under the scanner is Sri Lankan premier fast bowler Lashit Malinga with prominent singer Chinmayee Sripada posting a tweet on behalf on an anonymous woman, claiming that Malinga had sexually assaulted that woman during IPL season in a Mumbai hotel.
Chinmayee shared a post on her Twitter and spills the beans on the incident where she put up the anonymous woman’s post, naming cricketer Lashit Malinga, since the alleged victim did not name the cricketer in her statement.
The singer took the matter to her social media handle on behalf of that victim by stating that Malinga has forced himself upon the girl after calling her into hotel room.
The Tweet reads. “I would to like to remain anonymous. A few years back, when I was in Mumbai, I was looking forward to my friend in the hotel we were staying in. A famous Sri Lankan cricketer during the IPL season who said my friend was in his room. I go in and she was not! He then pushed me in the bed and proceeded to climb onto my face”.
“I closed my eyes and mouth but he used my face. Then the hotel staff knocked on the door to replenish the bar which the cricketer went to open the door. I quickly ran into the washroom, washed my face and left as soon as the hotel staff left. I was humiliated”, she added.
Earlier on Wednesday, Sri Lankan cricketer Arjun Ranatunga was also accused of sexual harassment by an Indian flight attended. The woman accused him of grabbing her waist tightly at the poolside of the hotel during one of his visit to India.
