In a recent interview, Priyanka Chopra has come out with the fact that the western world still has certain stereotypes about hindi films. India is the largest producer of films in the world and to receive such a response to the growing industry is a bit too harsh.
While stating the fact Priyanka Chopra said, “There are huge stereotypes about India, about hindi films. There is a lot more awareness now that Hindi movies are such a big industry but the stereotypes still exist.” She further added, “ Those are stereotypes you have to fight all the time and I guess it will only come with educating people and having them see Indian actors in mainstream parts, that we can do this. There is no putting us in a box. But it is going to be a struggle. There is so few of us.”
Priyanka will be seen next in the Hollywood movie Baywatch, which will release in India on Friday. She is playing the villain, named Victoria Leeds, in the movie. It is her first American film and also her 51st film.
Priyanka is currently busy with the premiers and promotions of Baywatch. Anxious about its release in India she said, “I am very excited about it, people have been a fan of the Tv show. I am very excited that we have very few cuts, people will get to enjoy the movie.”
While we wait for the Baywatch release in India until Friday, here is the trailer of the movie which was launched a couple of months ago.
