Salman Khan-starrer Race 3 performs well in box office but critics slam it; making it the lowest rated Salman movie ever.
After the previous 2 super hit editions from the stable of Race everybody was excited about Remo D’Souza directed Race 3, where Salman stepped into the shoes of Saif Ali Khan to play the lead in the star studded cast that also included Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Jacqline Fernández.
The high octane action movie has minted a whopping amount of around Rs 300 crore in only 11 days and is currently sitting second on the list of this year’s biggest grosser till date, second only to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavaat’.
Salman taking about his character in the movie had earlier opined, “This guy, Sikander, has every shade. The guy is very sharp, has got humour, he is ruthless, and his basic character is a man who has supressed his emotions and you do not know what this man is all about until the end of the movie.”
However, according to a report flashed by IMDB, the movie has received a rating of only 2.6, from the audience, which is not at all expected from a Salman Khan movie.
Meanwhile, rubbishing the ratings, actor Bobby Deol, who made a comeback in this movie, said that if the movie was that bad it would not have done so well at the box office.
But the audience, according to reports, after watching the film commented that it was “worthless”. Especially Bhaijaan’s (Salman Khan) fans were very much disappointed and urged their hero to not be a part of such movie ever again.
Even the social media looked to be trolling the movie.
Race 3, according to IMDB rankings has joined movies like Kya Cool Hai Hum (2.4), Humsakals (2.1) and Himmatwala (2). IMDB is a user based site and the rankings are given on the overall rating according to readers.
The movie which has been produced by non-other than the master of box office hits, Salman Khan Films and Ramesh Taurani under the banner of Tips Industries Ltd, according to reports, is also expected to hit theatres in 3D version also.
