After Sacred Games, Saif Ali Khan transformed himself into a Sadhu. Messy dreadlocked hair, wrapping a piece of torn cloth around the head as bandana, thickly kohl lined eyes and wearing sloppy cloths… B-town’s one of the most versatile actors Saif was recently spotted in this look.
But, what made the Nawab dress like a Sadhu?
Actually, Saif was spotted in the get up of his character which he is playing in his upcoming film ‘Hunter’.
The story revolves around a sadhu, who is out to take revenge. However, with his dreadlocks and perhaps much of his beard too, the actor’s look seems inspired more by Johnny Depp’s famous looks as Jack Sparrow in the film ‘Pirate of The Caribbean’. Many are calling him the Indian version of Jack Sparrow.
Saif’s aggressive look is intensified by kohl lined eyes and dreadlocked hair. ‘Hunter’ is currently being shot at Mumbai’s Filmistan studio, where the makers had to recreate Rajasthan in the set. Few leaked pictures from the set has created a lot of buzz already and currently surfacing one timeline to another.
In the film Saif will be seen in a new avatar as a Naga Sadhu and his looks for Hunter have left us gob-smacked completely. In the viral pictures Saif can be seen sporting a white dhoti pant and ragged red colored front-open jacket teaming up with a bandana.
Talking about the film, we got to know from a close source that in the first schedule of Hunter, Saif has been shot in village called Desuri, two hours away from Udaipur in Rajasthan.
Earlier the actor also shared details about the film Hunter during an interview with a leading daily. During that interview he disclosed that “He is playing a Naga Sadhu in Hunter. So, he has to grow up his hair and beard. It woul be a revenge war drama which is about a battle of power between two brothers and his character is almost like an animal, fights for his rights.”
The actor also had to train in sword fighting for his role. As he said earlier in that interview, “As the story is set against a war backdrop, I had to learn sword fighting and different forms of action. There’s a lot of post production and VFX job involved in this project as it will have many war sequences”.
Currently, Saif is shooting for an action sequence in Filmistan studio. A close source has informed that “The actor kicked off work around 9 in the morning and the shoot went till late evening. For the outgoing schedule, Rajasthan has been recreated in the studio”.
The war drama is helmed by director Navdeep Singh, which also stars Sonakshi Sinha and R madhban in leads.
Saif has constantly been testing his boundaries as an actor. All we can say, he is opting out from the ‘race’ of getting the best box-office digits, rather much more focused on content based projects that excites him as well as the cine-goers. Be it ‘Kalakandi’ or ‘Sacred Games’, choosing such projects definitely needs some confidence in a time when many stars are happy to play it safe.
