It seems Aamir has put the failure of his last film ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ behind him and is now all set to gearing up for his next film titled ‘Laal Singh Chadda’. On turning 54 recently, he treated his fans with the announcement of his next venture.
The actor celebrated his birthday with a cake-cutting ceremony with the media persons in Mumbai. His wife Kiran Rao was also present at that press conference.
On the sidelines, he revealed that his next venture will be an official adaption of the Hollywood classic ‘Forrest Grump’. Tom Hanks’s 1994 hit film ‘Forrest Gump’ is all its way to get its Hindi remake that is ‘Laal Singh Chadda’. The film will be helmed by Advait Chandan, who earlier directed Aamir in ‘Secret Superstar’. Aamir will be seen in lead. It will be bankrolled jointly by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Aamir Khan Productions.
“My next film is finalized it is called ‘Laal Singh Chadda’. It is being made by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Aamir Khan Productions together. It will be directed by Advait Chandan. It is an adaption of Hollywood film Forrest Gump,” Mr. Perfectionist addressed the media. He also added, “We have bought the rights from Paramount and I am playing the lead role of Lal Singh.”
The makers are yet to lock the cast of the upcoming film. They have started prepping up for the film. It will go on floor from October. Aamir will be prepping for six months. He has to lose weight approx 20 kgs for the character and has to look lean and slim, revealed the actor.
The makers have not yet decided the release date of film but are planning to release it in 2020. “I have always loved Forrest Gump as a script. It is a wonderful story about this character. It is a life affirming story and a feel good film. It is a film for the whole family,” Aamir added farther. The actor also revealed that he will be sporting a turban for some part of the film.
