After delivering back to back two super hit films in last year —‘Badhaai Ho’ and ‘Andhadhun’, actor Ayushmann Khurrana is collaborating with ‘Mulk’ director Anubhav Sinha. He will be seen in Anubhav’s next directorial.
The film will reportedly be an investigative drama and it has an apparent reference to the Constitution of India. Yes, Anubhav’s next venture has been titled as ‘Article 15’. In the section of Indian Constitution ‘Article-15’ prohibits discrimination on the grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth. On Wednesday, makers have released the first-look.
Khurrana essays a cop in this film. Well, this is the first time Ayushmann playing a cop character. For this role, the actor can be seen sporting a moustache and donning a police uniform. ‘Article-15’s filming began on March 1. Currently, the entire crew including Ayushmann is busy shooting in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh and it is reportedly based on certain inferences drawn from true life events that have been taken place in the country in the past six months. We are sure about that the film will be an content-driven film with solid power-packed performances.
Talking about the film Khurrana said in a statement, “I am always intrigued by the socio-political scenario of our country but very few films project it in an unbiased way. Anubhav is one of those directors who understand the complexities of our country. I loved his ‘Mulk’, the most balanced film on communalism and extremism and I am really excited to work with him in ‘Article-15’”.
On the other hand, Anubhav, who is helming the project, revealed that Ayushmann’s role in the film is pretty challenging, but he will be able to do justice to it with his level of talent. “It is an investigative drama where the audience too is an accused party. A very challenging film that needed an extra ordinary actor like Ayushmann. Delighted have him on board with an explosive bundle of such talented and acclaimed actor.”
While, Khurrana will be seen as the as principal protagonist, a stellar support cast comprising of Isha Talwar, Manoj Pahwa, Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra, Zeeshan Ayub, M Naser and Ashish Verma among others.
Besides, Ayushmann will be next seen in Ekta Kapoor’s venture ‘Dream Girl’ and he has Dinesh Vijan’s ‘Bala’ in his kitty which marks his reunion with Bhumi Pednekar after ‘Dum laga Ke Haisha’ and ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’.
