A string of blasts in high-end hotels and churches across Sri Lanka on Sunday left at least 207 killed and over 400 critically injured, as eight serial blasts rocked Sri Lanka. Bollywood, personalities world over, and netizens across the globe chose to express their condemnation on social media.
Many Bollywood celebrities too took to their respective Twitter to condemn the attacks and offer their condolences to the grieving families.
Celebs like Anushka Sharma, Swara Bhasker, Huma Qureshi, Abhishek Bachchan to Vivek Oberoi, Parineeti Chopra, Boman Irani, Dia Mirza extended prayers for the people of Sri Lanka.
Jacqueline Fernandez, the Bolly actress who is from Sri Lanka, took to Twitter to express grief. She wrote, “Extremely Sad at the news of Bombing in Sri Lanka. It’s unfortunate that one is not able to see that violence is like a chain reaction. This has to stop!”

Arjun Kapoor called the attacks ‘monstrous’. He wrote, “Really disturbed to hear about the monstrous attack in Sri Lanka on such an auspicious day. My thoughts and prayers to the families of the affected.” His co-star Pareenti Chopra also offered her grief on social media.

The first phase of blast took place at 8.45 am (local time) as the Easter Sunday masses were in progress at the church. The Sri Lankan army has deployed 200 troops to ensure security.
