Congress leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Monday said the grand old party failed to gain from Lok Sabha elections because the party could not manage to market its products.
He said that Prime Minister was a very big salesman. This is the main reason behind BJP re-elected as ruling party in centre.
While the Congress MP was mocking the BJP government at that time Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present in the house.
In his presence, Adhir asked to treasury bench, “Did you manage to catch anybody in 2G and coal allocation scams? Did you manage to send Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi behind the bars? You came to power by calling them thieves. Then how are they sitting in the parliament?”
The first session of 17thLok Sabha is underway.
Speaking in the session he also added that BJP returned to power as Prime Minister Narendra Modi was a very big salesman and Congress failed to gain in the 2019 general elections as it could not market its product.He alleged, “The BJP government has developed political plagiarism syndrome and is only a travesty of truth.” He attacked and said that it only tries to highlight its achievements ignoring the foundation laid down by his party.
However, Union minister Pratap Chandra Sarangi asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rivals to respect people’s mandate.
The ruling BJP chose Sarangi, who has hit headlines for his humble lifestyle, to initiate the discussion on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s address, and his an hour-long speech was high on its praise for Modi’s leadership and nationalism pitch, drawing jeers from opposition benches.
Tuesday Prime Minister will give reply on Motion of Thanks of President Address in Lok Sabha.
