The gorgeous Mexican girl Venessa Ponce De Leon left everyone amazed after bagging the crown of the prestigious Miss World pageant held in China.
Venessa is the first Mexican queen to have won the title of Miss World. She beat 118 contestants from around the world to bag the coveted title.
India’s Anukreethy Vas, however, failed to make a mark at the pageant, as she could not even make it to top 30.
On Saturday, Venessa was crowned as Miss World 2018 in the 68th edition of the pageant by outgoing queen Manushi Chhillar in a grand ceremony held in the coastal city of Sanya in China.
Nicolene Limsnukan from Thailand was named as the first runner-up.

I really can’t believe it. And I think all the girls deserved it. I am proud to represent all of them. I will do as much as I can in the time I have got. Thank you so much everyone” she added to her winning speech.
The 26-year-old Mexican girl smiled away with moist eyes as she folded her hands in gratitude to gesture the traditional Indian ‘Namaste’ greeting when the outgoing Miss World pageant Manushi placed the elaborate crown on her head.
It was her winning answer to an interesting question that locked her fate on the big evening.
Asked, “How would you use your influence as Miss World to help others?” her winning answer was “I would use my position just as I have been doing for the past three years, being an example. We all can be an example of good in the world. We all have to care, we all have to love, we all have to be kind. It doesn’t cost a thing and helping is not that hard. You just have to go out there and there will always be someone who needs what you have to offer. So, help anyone you can.”
Venessa began her career as a contestant on cycle 5 of Mexico’s Next Top Model in 2014 while she won the competition. She pursued a degree in International Business, Venessa is currently on the board of directors of a rehab center for girls and volunteers for ‘Migrantes en el Camino’. She is also a speaker for the National Youth Institute as well as working as a model and a presenter.
