Replying to Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury’s question from the Government if guilty why Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi were out of jail, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that it is not emergency that anybody can be put in jail.
We work according to the law and if someone was getting bail, he should enjoy it. We do not indulge in vendetta, the prime minister added while replying to the Motion of Thanks on President’s address in Lok Sabha.
It was Narendra Modi’s first address in Parliament after being re-elected as Prime Minister.
Narendra Modi during his speech responded to Congress Lok Sabha leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury’s remark who on Monday mocked the BJP government asking why it failed to put alleged thieves Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in jail.
Taking a jibe to Adhir Chowdhury he said, “The country was not under Emergency and due process of law will be followed. If you get bail, enjoy it.”
Modi said it in a veiled reference to Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi.
