Two years after the controversial political drama ‘Indu Sarkar’, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar is returning to the director’s chair for his next with a quirky action venture titled ‘Inspector Ghalib’.
According to reports, Madhur’s next one will be based on a true life event.
While most of Madhur’s films have been female-centric, the recent one will have a male protagonist and for this larger than life venture the National Award winning director plans to rope in a top Bollywood actor.
A source close to the development has revealed that the film will be a quirky and witty drama. And reportedly it will be set against the backdrop of sand mafia in Uttar Pradesh. The director has been doing the research on sand mafias in UP for 6 to 7 months now. Although the story will revolve around a real-life incident of sand mafia, Madhur promised to give it a larger-than-life treatment.
And not to miss, to keep the authenticity intact, the director decided to shoot the major portion of the film in Uttar Pradesh. Though, some of the reports are claiming that the makers the still haunting for the exact location.
The project is currently in the pre-production stage, as director Madhur is finalizing locations, cast and the technical team.
And reportedly it will go on floor around May, 2019.
Meanwhile, Director Madhur Bhandarkar confirmed the news, saying, “Yes, I am making this film, but it is too early to divulge more details at this point.”
After Madhur, the trade analyst Taran Adarsh also took to his Twitter and confirmed the project.
