Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati made a personal attack on Monday on Prime Minister, saying he doesn’t know how to respect the sisters and daughters of others as he has left his wife for his vested political interests.
Narendra Modi had challenged Mayawati a day earlier on Alwar gang-rape case, asking her to withdraw support from Rajasthan’s Congress led government if appropriate action is not taken by the state authority.
While attacking Prime Minister on Monday Mayawati said: “The Prime Minister remained silent on the Alwar gang rape, however, after I spoke on the matter he started to do his filthy politics for political gains.”
“He doesn’t know how to respect the sisters and daughters of others as he has left his wife for his vested political interests.”
She also threatened the state government and stated that BSP may withdraw support from the Congress government in Rajasthan if appropriate action is not taken in connection with the Alwar gang-rape.
Our party is committed to getting justice for the victim, however, we may withdraw our support if appropriate and suitable action is not taken in the case.
The gang-rape incident was reported last week in which a woman was allegedly gang-raped by five men in front of her husband Alwar district. The incident reportedly occurred on April 26 but the police put it under the carpet citing work pressure of ongoing elections.
Social media has erupted over the matter.
