Patralekha, who made her Bolly debut in Hansal Mehta’s 2014 film ‘City Lights’ opposite to actor-beau Rajkummar Rao, following it up with the same actor and director with ‘Love Games’ (2016) and ‘Nanu Ki Janu’ in 2018, is now all set make her Kannada debut.
Patralekha will be seen in an action-comedy venture titled ‘Where Is My Kannadaka?’ She will be feature opposite actor Golden Ganesh.
The action-comedy venture ‘Where Is My Kannadaka?’ will be helmed by debutant director duo and real-life couple Raaj and Damini. The film is expected to go on floors in April-May and the shoot will be held in London.
A source close to the development has revealed that script, screenplay, star cast to shooting schedules—everything is locked and the entire cast and crew is now waiting to leave for the UK. The film would be shot in a start-to-finish schedule.
Further the source also added that the makers are eyeing a release of the film in the last quarter of this year.
Patralekha confirmed the news, saying she is looking forward to featuring in her maiden Kannada film and is keen on to the project.
“I am super excited to be working on it with Raaj and Damini. While I can’t reveal much about the role right now, I can definitely say that it’s a kind of role that I have not portrayed on screen so far and that makes it more special,” said the ‘City Light’ actress.
Well, after the success of KFG in Hindi-speaking regions, the Kannada film fraternity, which is popularly known as ‘Sandal wood’, has got into the mainstream zone with Bollywood actors and gained a foothold among the other regional counterparts, such as Telegu, Tamil and Malayalam.
‘Where Is My Kannadaka?’ will also mark directorial debut venture of the husband-wife duo Raaj and Damini who have previously directed several television shows in Kannada as well as Hindi.
