Fans of Ranbir and Alia will have to wait a while to watch their onscreen romance in ‘Brahmastra’, as director Ayan Mukerji’s directorial venture got a new release date.
On Saturday, writer-director Ayan has announced on his Instagram that his much anticipated film ‘Brahmastra’ has shifted its release date to summer 2020.
In a lengthy note posted on the photo-sharing app, Ayan hinted that technical aspects of the film have caused the unavoidable delay. The film was initially supposed to hit the screens on Christmas 2019, December 20 along with Salman Khan’s ‘Dabangg 3’.
In a lengthy Instagram post Mukerji wrote, “In the past week, I have learnt that all the teams working on the movie, led by my VFX teams, need more time to get the VFX right, to get the sound right, to get the music right, and eventually to get the film right.”

Further he added, “Our release date is now slated for Summer 2020 but we will announce this officially once we are absolutely certain of the date.”
This announcement comes a day after Bhaijaan announced his cop-drama franchise ‘Dabangg 3’will hit the screen on December 20, the original release date of ‘Brahmastra’.On Friday, Salman spills the beans in a Twitter post. Well, industry insiders say, to prevent the box office clash between two big budgeted Bolly ventures ‘Dabangg 3’ and ‘Brahmastra’, makers took the decision.

‘Brahmastra’ is the first part of the action-fantasy trilogy, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna in key roles. Ayan’s film has been shot in various international locations and the Himalayas.
