Who can ever forget the dashing cop Chulbul Pandey, the character played by Salman Khan! Well, it seems, 2019 is a special year for Chulbul Pandey’s fan, as Salman Khan is soon going to be seen in cop Chulbul Pandey’s avatar once again.
The man, who brought cop films back in trend, is all set to begin shoot for ‘Dabangg 3’. While, the first installment has amused the fans and were box office super-duper hit, now the much awaited third installment of ‘Dabangg’ franchise reportedly kicks off in April. But the makers have not revealed yet who will be seen opposite to Salman Khan as female lead!
Confirming the news, Salman’s brother and the producer of the film, Arbaaz Khan says, “Yes, Dabangg 3 will go on the floors in April. However, we are still contemplating the locations. At this point, all that I can say that the film features Salman Khan in lead role.”
Producer Arbaaz also revealed the name of the director. And guess who will helm the project?
Well, he is none other than Indian Michael Jackson, the dancer and the director, Prabhudeva, who directed Salman in ‘Wanted’.
There has been much speculation that ‘Dabangg 3’ will be revolve around the real-life story of a Noida based policeman. However, when Arbaaz was quizzed about it, he asserts, “I have been reading a lot about Dabangg 3 on the social media, some say it’s a remake, some say the story inspired by a real-life incident, some say it is set in Noida. But at present, I would like to maintain some secrecy around it” he added.
Before, our Bhaijaan gets into the cop uniform, he will wrap up Ali Abbas Zafar’s period drama ‘Bharat’, which is currently being shot at Film City. According to several reports, the makers have recreated Delhi from the ‘50s and ‘60s at the city studio for the last schedule of ‘Bharat’.
‘Dabangg’ franchise took off in 2010 with Abhinav Kashyap as the director and bagged the National Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. The sequel helmed by producer Arbaaz himself, which was equally successful at the box office. And now seven years later, the series is all set to complete a hat-trick with Prabhudeva at the director’s chair.
