Sanya Malhotra, who made a splash with Amir Khan’s 2016 film ‘Dangal’ has already marked her name in Bollywood’s golden letter. She has managed to impress the audience with her charm and stellar acting ability in her 2018 ventures— Vishal Bharadwaj helmed ‘Pataakha’ and Amit Sharma’s ‘Badhaai Ho’ opposite to Ayushman Khurrana, which was the biggest Bolly-hit of the year. And now, the latest reports suggests that Sanya has bagged a big Bolly project.

And now if the reports are to be believed, Sanya will be playing Vidya’s daughter in that upcoming venture, which is expected to go on floors in mid-2019.
Vidya Balan, who bagged several awards include National Award for Best Actress category for her performance as South Actress Silk Smitha in ‘The Dirty Picture’ and recently was seen in the ‘NTR’ biopic in the role of Basavatarakam, wife (second) of the Telegu actor-politician Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’s, is all set to play mathematician Shakuntala Devi in her biopic. And Sanya will step into the shoes of her dear daughter Anupama Banerjee.

A source close to the development has revealed that Sanya has liked the story and script. And being a huge fan of Vidya, she is keen to share the screen with her. But Sanya has yet to sign on the dotted line. The film will role this year,” added the source.
This film will mark Vidya’s second biopic where she will be seen in a lead role after ‘The Dirty picture’, which also featured Naseeruddin Shah, Emraan Hashmi and Tushar Kapoor.
Meanwhile, Sanya Malhotra is already ruling the headlines for her upcoming venture ‘Photograph’ alongside ‘Manto’ star Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the film is on its way of world premier at Sundance Film Festival. Talking about Sanya’s upcoming film Ritesh Batra shares, “I am thrilled to present Photograph along with Nawaz and Sanya at Sundance this year. It’s a great platform for the movie and tells stories from India to the world! I am looking forward to our release in India next year.”
Coming back to the biopic on Shakuntala Devi, she is popularly known as the ‘human computer’ and her talent earned her a place in 1982 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records. The Bangalore born mathematician wrote a number of books, as well as texts on mathematics and astrology. Shakuntala Devi’s father discovered her talent when she was only three, while teaching her card trick. Later, the mathematician moved to London with her father in 1944 and travelled the world by giving performances in Europe and the US.
The makers have not revealed the name and the release date of Shakuntala Devi’s biopic. So, we have to sit and wait to watch the on-screen chemistry of Vidya Balan and Sanya Malhotra as mother-daughter!
