In the aftermath of Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist killing 42 Indian security personnel on February 14, the US, the UK and France have moved a fresh proposal at the UN Security Council to designate JeM chief Masood Azhar as a global terrorist.
Azhar has been operating from Pakistan soil.
In case, the move is accepted following the polling, Masood will face global travel ban and his assets will be freezed and arms embargo.
The fresh proposal was moved on Wednesday by the three permanent veto-wielding members of the 15-nation security council.
The council Sanctions Committee has 10 working days to consider the fresh proposal submitted by the three UNSC members.
In last decade, four times proposal to ban Azhar had been moved before the 15-nation security council.
Azhar is also the mastermind of the attack on the airbase in Pathankot in January 2016.
