Videos of Prime Minister Narendra Modi serving meal to schoolchildren have widely circulated over social media. Among those a video shared by Modi himself on his Instagram handle became quite popular as it features a conversation with a kid, showing the prime minister in lighter vein.
The video shows his hilarious conversation with schoolchildren after he served food to them to mark the three billionth meals offered by Akshaya Patra Foundation, as the PM visited Vrindavan to serve food to the underprivileged schoolchildren on Monday.
However, it seems that Modi reached the venue a bit late than he was supposed to. In that video the PM can be seen seemingly apologising for the delay to one of the boys he was serving, who was sitting with his classmates.
‘Dedh baj raha hain… Barah baje milna chahiye tha khaana. Der se aaya Pradhan Mantri, aapka khaana late ho gaya haina? (It’s 1:30. The meal should have been served at 12 noon. But, just because the Prime Minister arrived late, your food also got delayed, right?),” joked Narendra Modi, addressing the boy.
While it may be so that the meals got delayed due to the PM’s late arrival, the schoolchildren did not seem to mind, as one of the girls sitting next to the boy interrupted and told Modi “Hum Subah khaa ke aaye the (We ate in the morning and came here).” And that’s what made him chuckle!
Sharing the video on his Instagram Modi captioned it, “Had a good conversation with the children. They didn’t mind the late lunch J.”

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Governor Ram Naik also joined Modi in serving food.
There was Roti, paneer vegetables, choley, pulao, pakoda, sprouts salads and gajar ka halwa in the menu, a spokesperson of NGO said.
Akshaya Patra is a Bengaluru based non-profit organization that works with the government on mid-day meal schemes. PM Modi praised the effort of this NGO towards eradicating hunger from the country.
