The Yogi government’s effective preparations limited a possible major accident in the Maha Kumbh on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya. Sadhus, saints and devotees praised the government. They say that if the arrangements were not so smooth, this incident could have taken a serious turn. CM Yogi Adityanath became active as soon as he got information about the incident. He immediately took updates from the officials and organized a high-level meeting. The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary Home, DGP and other senior officials, who gave necessary guidelines.
The accident in Maha Kumbh happened due to a rumour. Mahamandaleshwar Swami Prakashanand of Shri Panch Dashnam Aawahan Akhara said that loss of life could be prevented due to the prompt action of Yogi government and UP police. The crowd control system was tight, which kept the incident limited. Yogi government was praised for this promptness of the administration and police.
Meanwhile, Narayan Seva Sansthan president Prashant Agarwal praised the administrative efforts to handle the crowd during Amrit Snan in Maha Kumbh. He appealed to the devotees not to pay attention to rumors. He said that the administration had made foolproof planning for this event. The major reason for the incident was the carelessness of some people and jostling in the crowd. Kumkum Srivastava of Gopalganj said that the heavy crowd and negligence of the local people were the reason for the accident.
The administration had repeatedly appealed to people to bathe at the bathing place only. The opposition’s criticism was termed as misleading. The Yogi government’s working style and prompt response successfully controlled this incident.
