Ahmedabad plane crash: The story of the only survivor Vishwas Kumar Ramesh

Vishwas Kumar Ramesh is the only person who survived the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad. So far 241 people have been confirmed dead in this unfortunate incident. Vishwas Kumar Ramesh is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital.

While receiving medical care, he spoke to the media and described the incident. He said, “I cannot believe myself that I was able to get out alive. Because for some time I also felt that my death was certain. When I regained consciousness, I realized that I was alive. After the accident, I searched for a way to get out of the plane.”

Describing the circumstances before the accident, Vishwas Kumar said that just a minute after takeoff, it seemed as if the plane had stopped. Within a few moments, the lighting system inside the plane became active. The plane collided with the hostel of a hospital at a very high speed. He said, “The part of the plane in which I was, did not hit the wall, but the door of the plane got damaged and I came out through that way. My left hand got slightly burnt. After that I was brought to the hospital by ambulance.”

This Air India plane departed from Ahmedabad to London on Thursday at 1:38 pm. There were 230 passengers and 12 navigation personnel on board. The plane crashed a few minutes after takeoff. The plane hit a hospital hostel some distance from the Ahmedabad airport and caught fire. The dead include 169 Indians, including former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, 53 British, 7 Portuguese and 1 Canadian citizen.
