The government has appointed 37 new judges to the high courts. Last Friday, 26 judges were appointed to various high courts. These appointments are also part of the same sequence.
With the issuance of notification for the appointment of 11 more judges in the Punjab and Haryana High Courts, one hundred and 38 judges have been appointed this year in the High Courts of the country.
After these appointments, the record of appointing one hundred and 26 judges was broken in 2016. In the last year 2021, one hundred and 20 judges were appointed in the High Courts and nine in the Supreme Court.
