Opposing China’s military aggression to “change the status quo” along the Line of Actual Control, a bipartisan resolution was introduced in the US Senate on Thursday to recognize Arunachal Pradesh as an integral part of India.
The resolution calls for China to use military force to change the status quo on the Line of Actual Control, build villages in disputed areas, publish maps with Mandarin language names for cities and regions in the Indian state of Arunachal, and establish Chinese military bases in Bhutan. Chinese provocations including expansion of territories have been condemned.
Markle, who brought this proposal, is considered an open-minded Democratic senator. He is a senator from Oregon. He is also the Deputy Chairman of the Executive Commission of the US Congress on China. Hagerty, on the other hand, has been the former US ambassador to Japan. Both are active members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Cornea, on the other hand, is the co-founder and vice-chairman of the Senate India Caucus. He has also been a former Senate Majority Whip. He is currently a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.
