Baloch activist writes letter to US President to reconsider Pakistan relations

Prominent Baloch human rights activist Mir Yar Baloch has sent a letter to US President Donald Trump calling for a rethink on relations with Pakistan. He has written this letter in the context of the proposed US visit of Pakistani Army Chief General Asim Munir.

The letter mentioned that the Pakistan Army and ISI are involved in human rights violations in Balochistan, including the forced abduction of more than 40,000 Baloch civilians. Mir urged the President to question General Munir on what legal or moral basis Pakistan lays claim to Balochistan’s natural resources.

The Baloch activist clarified that Balochistan is an ancient sovereign nation, which is currently under the illegal control of Pakistan and Iran. Despite being rich in natural resources and strategic position, the region suffers from oppressive rule.

Mir criticized that the US made a grave mistake by trusting Pakistan after 9/11, while Pakistan has always adopted a two-faced policy. He mentioned that Pakistan is actively involved in training terrorist organizations like ISIS and Daesh, which pose a serious threat to global security.

The letter urges the Trump administration to establish direct dialogue with the exiled Baloch leadership, particularly Hyrbyar Marri and representatives of the Free Balochistan Movement. Mir Yar Baloch concludes the letter by calling for recognition and support for Balochistan.
