NEW DELHI: The Central Government approved a financial assistance package exceeding ₹605 crore for Rajasthan and Telangana to bolster the agricultural sector and provide relief to farming communities affected by natural disasters and adverse weather conditions. The funding aims to strengthen rural infrastructure and support affected farming households in both states.
A substantial portion of the approved allocation will address crop losses resulting from unseasonal rainfall, drought, and related climate challenges, alongside supporting local water conservation initiatives. Funds are also slated for expanding modern farm equipment availability, upgrading irrigation facilities, and modernizing agricultural markets. The measures are expected to lower input costs and improve farm productivity.
Farmer organizations across both states welcomed the announcement as a timely intervention. Administrative departments have been directed to ensure transparent and prompt disbursement directly to eligible beneficiaries and development projects. The decision aligns with broader national efforts to stabilize rural incomes and sustain agricultural growth.
