MEERUT: In celebration of the holy month of Shravan, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Meerut to welcome Kanwar pilgrims returning with holy water from Haridwar. Positioned along the Delhi-Dehradun National Highway, the Chief Minister showered flower petals on the passing pilgrims from a dedicated stage and helicopter, inspiring chants of “Har Har Mahadev” throughout the corridor.
Reviewing operational arrangements along the pilgrimage route, the Chief Minister reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to respecting religious traditions and ensuring robust security for all devotees. Administrative officials were directed to maintain high standards of cleanliness, healthcare access, drinking water supply, and street lighting. Continuous monitoring via CCTV networks and drone surveillance has also been deployed along the entire transit belt.
The Chief Minister emphasized that providing a safe, well-regulated environment for cultural and religious events remains a key administrative priority across Uttar Pradesh. He appealed to pilgrims to maintain discipline during their journey while instructing law enforcement personnel to remain vigilant against potential disruptions. Senior local officials and representatives joined the Chief Minister in encouraging the traveling devotees.
