The Bharatiya Janata Party has accused the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi of speaking the language of Pakistan. His “Narendra surrender” remark has triggered a political controversy, which is being propagated by Pakistan.
Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has used this statement to claim that Prime Minister Narendra Modi surrendered after US President Donald Trump’s intervention during the India-Pakistan military conflict. Pakistan is now using this statement to spread propaganda against India at the international level.
In a viral video, Khawaja Asif said, “India’s leader Rahul Gandhi has named the Prime Minister as ‘Narender Surrender’. This statement by the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha is an admission from India that the surrender was done by Narendra Modi.”
Reacting to this, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju advised Rahul Gandhi not to cross the limit. He wrote on social media, “There is a limit to stupidity and opposition. Is there no one in the Congress party who can tell him that being in the opposition party does not mean opposing the country?”
This is not the first time that Khawaja Asif has supported Rahul Gandhi’s statements. In the past too, when the Congress MP made comments on the BJP and Prime Minister Modi in the Lok Sabha, Pakistan’s defence minister used his statements to criticise the Indian government.
