In one of the most shocking incidents that took place, the Mwana police have apprehended cow stealers who include three people and two women, after they harassed a female police officer by her neck in Sathla village in UP
After getting a information about cow smuggling incident, the police swung into action in Sathla village where the deadly incident took place. On reaching the crime spot, they the sleuths first attacked the cops. A female police officer named Bita was trapped in the fight, which left her seriously wounded. According to sources, the cow smugglers threw a rope, used to tie cows around her neck and dragged her away for a long distance.
When the police rescued the lady cop , the police were wounded by stone-throwing. In the meantime, several cops from different police stations reached the village of Sathla. The cops subsequently conducted raids in many suspected places and resulted in seizing 3 quintal meat, butcher knives, plastic bags, carts and three bikes. So far 3 people, including two women, have been arrested in relation to this case.
The police have booked 10 people to conspire, smuggle cows and threaten to kill. They include Uvesh, Ikram Qureshi, Zaid Qureshi, Maharaj, Aafarin, Wasim Qureshi, Feroz Qureshi, Amjad Qureshi, Furkan Qureshi, and Afaq Qureshi. Locals in the region have refuted allegations of cow smuggling and reported that the police were not targeted. They admitted, however, that cow meat had been wrapped in the village.
Last year, while addressing a gathering in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that stern action will be taken against those involved in the slaughter of cows.
“Those who are engaged in such an act are going to prison. We’re going to save cows at any cost,” he said.
