After the arrest of Bharatiya Janata Party leader Tajinder Bagga by the Punjab Police, the Delhi Police has registered a case of kidnapping. Bagga was arrested this morning by the Punjab Police from his Delhi residence on charges of making provocative statements and making criminal intimidation. The Punjab Police is taking Bagga to Mohali. It is reported that the Punjab Police was stopped by the Haryana Police on the way after the Delhi Police registered a case of kidnapping.
Meanwhile, BJP has termed the arrest as illegal and said that the necessary procedure was not followed for it. Talking to the media in New Delhi, party leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa accused Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal of doing vendetta politics by misusing the Punjab Police. He said that during the arrest of Bagga, his father was assaulted.
Delhi BJP President Adesh Gupta said that the party is with Bagga. He alleged that the Punjab Police was acting on the instructions of Kejriwal.
At the same time, Delhi Police has also left for Kurukshetra to bring back Bagga. Meanwhile, Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij has bluntly said that Tejinder Pal Singh Bagga will be handed over to Delhi Police only. He said that if someone has been kidnapped, it is our responsibility to stop them.
