The agreement focuses on digitizing and securing the credential verification process for Indian students applying to Australian higher education institutions.
Under the new framework, Australian universities and immigration authorities can verify academic transcripts, degree certificates, and related documentation directly through DigiLocker in real time. This digital integration eliminates manual processing delays, reduces administrative costs, and mitigates risks associated with fraudulent documentation. By shifting to instant electronic verification, admission timelines and visa processing speeds are expected to improve significantly.
