The recently formed BJP-Eknath Shinde-led government in Maharashtra has won the trust vote in the assembly. The ruling party got 164 votes, while the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance got 99 votes.
Rebel Shiv Sena MLA Santosh Bangar, who had joined the Shinde faction yesterday, voted in favor of the government. Two Samajwadi Party MLAs and one AIMIM MLA did not take part in the voting. Senior Congress MLAs Ashok Chavan, Vijay Veddetiwar and 18 others, including Nationalist Congress Party legislators, did not reach the House till the last bell for division of votes.
