The Union Health Ministry informed that all people above 18 years of age who have completed nine months of getting the second Kovid vaccine, will be eligible to apply the precautionary dose.
The ministry said that about 96 percent of adolescents above the age of 15 years have received the first Kovid vaccine so far while 83 percent have received both the vaccines. The first and second vaccines in the free immunization program from the Government Immunization Centers and preventive doses will continue to be administered to the eligible category of people.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has advised Kerala, Maharashtra, Mizoram, Delhi and Haryana to closely monitor the spread of COVID infection and take all possible steps to contain it.
The ministry has advised to monitor the areas of Kovid infection and has emphasized on increasing the investigation in areas with high infection rate.
