Former Congress leader Hardik Patel will join BJP on June 2 in Bharatiya Janata Party. The spokesperson of the party in the state gave this information on Tuesday. The BJP has been in power in the state for more than two decades.
Patel had joined the Congress in 2019 and was later made the working president of the state unit. However, earlier this month he had decided to part ways with the party. After resigning from the Congress, there was speculation that he might join the ruling party BJP in the state. He had strongly criticized the Congress leadership while praising the BJP’s decision-making ability and style of functioning.
Alpesh Kathiria, a close aide of Hardik Patel, said that after joining the BJP, the Patidar leader should ensure that the state government withdraws the cases registered against members of the community and the family members of those who lost their lives during the Patidar quota agitation. Give a job
Patel had, in a letter to party president Sonia Gandhi before quitting Congress, claimed that the party had only “played the role of a deterrent” on some important issues in the country and that it was “merely opposed to everything”. It’s just narrowed down.
