Hindu Mahasabha leader killed outside his house

A Hindu Mahasabha leader has been killed outside his house in Tamil Nadu state.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Bandi Gangadhar said preliminary investigations suggest personal enmity could be behind the gruesome incident.

Police have set up six teams to nab Nagraj’s killers.

The incident occurred on Sunday when State Secretary of Hindu Mahasabha in Tamil Nadu, Nagaraj was found dead near his house in Anumandha Nagar in Hosur.

Some local reports suggested he was hacked to death by an unidentified gang early morning. He was killed after being convinced to step out of his house.

Other reports suggested he  was out on a walk when the miscreants stopped their car in front of him and assaulted him. He was reportedly chased down and murdered him in full public view.  He reportedly sustained cut injuries to his head and abdomen and died on the spot.

He had earlier sought police protection. He is now survived by his wife, son and 3 daughters.

A police officer said it is suspected Nagaraj had a rivalry in his real estate and money-lending business.
