After the dissolution of the National Assembly by the President in Pakistan, the notification for the appointment of Imran Khan to the post of Prime Minister has been revoked. But according to Article 224 of the Constitution of Pakistan, Imran Khan will continue to serve as the Prime Minister for the next 15 days until the appointment of the caretaker Prime Minister. During this time they will not be able to take important decisions.
The post of Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition also fell vacant after the dissolution of the Assembly. The Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition appoint the caretaker Prime Minister.
After the no-confidence motion was rejected, President Arif Alvi dissolved the National Assembly on the recommendation of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
