India has created a world record by waving 78 thousand 220 tricolours simultaneously. India entered the Guinness Book of World Records by waving more than 78 thousand tricolor flags simultaneously at the Veer Kunwar Singh Vijayotsav program in Bhojpur, Bihar on 23rd of this month. Union Home Minister Amit Shah was present on the occasion.
This program was organized to pay tribute to the glorious victory of the then King of Jagdishpur, Veer Kunwar Singh. He was prominent among the ‘heroes’ of the 1857 freedom struggle.
Babu Kunwar Singh was also a great social reformer and he came forward for the welfare of downtrodden and backward classes at that time. The event was organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs and Culture under the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. The event was also witnessed by representatives of the Guinness Book of World Records.
