The US has decided not to impose sanctions on India under its stringent act for buying S-400 missile systems from Russia. It is being considered as a big relief for India. After buying the missile system from Russia, there were fears of US sanctions but India was confident of its implementation against itself.
The US House of Representatives passed a legislative amendment to impose no restrictions under the Sanctions Act. The US House of Representatives on Thursday approved the amendment of Indian-origin MP Ro Khanna to the National Defense Authorization Act.
Responding to this development, Mr. Ro Khanna said that the move will further strengthen the India-US defense partnership.
