India reports 9,857,029 Coronavirus cases with 391 fatalities in a day

With a daily increase of 30,254 in total cases, India’s tally of coronavirus cases has risen from 9,826,775 on Saturday to 9,857,029 – an increase of 0.3%. Death toll has reached 143,019, with 391 fatalities in a day. The eighth-most-affected country by active cases, third by fatality, and second by total and recovered cases, India has added 212,807 cases in the past 7 days.

India now accounts for 1.78% of all active cases globally (one in every 56 active cases), and 8.87% of all deaths (one in every 11 deaths).
Backwards from here, the last 1 million cases for India have come in 27 days.

The count of active cases across India has seen a net decline of 3,273, compared with 3,930 on Saturday. The states that have reported the highest increase in active cases are Kerala (649), Chhattisgarh (294), Uttarakhand (273), Maharashtra (230), and Manipur (59).

With 33,136 new daily recoveries, India’s recovery rate has improved to 94.93%; the fatality rate remains unchanged at 1.45%.

The Indian states and UTs with the worst case fatality rates at present are Punjab (3.17%), Maharashtra (2.57%), and Gujarat (2.22%). The rate in as many as 13 is higher than the national average.

India’s new daily closed cases stand at 33,527 — 391 deaths and 33,136 recoveries. The share of deaths in total closed cases stands at 1.18%.
