The prestigious Passing Out Parade held at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, handed over the services of 456 new military officers to the country. A total of 491 officers successfully completed their training in this historic parade, which was held in front of the Chetwood Building of the Academy. This includes 456 officers for the Indian Army and 35 officers for the forces of friendly countries.
The parade was saluted by the Chief of Army Staff of Nepal, Ashok Raj Sigdel as the Reviewing Officer and was attended by dignitaries, foreign guests, senior military officials and families of the cadets who added to the grandeur of the ceremony. An atmosphere of discipline, dedication and pride prevailed as the Reviewing Officer praised the hard work and discipline of the cadets and motivated them to become excellent military officers. At the oath taking ceremony, the cadets put on the star insignia on their uniforms and expressed their commitment to serve and protect Mother India.
After this passing out parade, the Indian Military Academy has set a record of training a total of 66,119 military officers so far, including 2,988 officers from friendly foreign armies. This significant contribution of the academy establishes it as a world-class military training institute.
Cadets from many friendly countries are also trained at IMA, reflecting India’s spirit of friendship and cooperation. Thus, this parade is not only an important chapter for the new military officers but also a symbol of the security and peace of the nation.
