“We must be Aatmanirbhar in the toy industry as well as in the global market,” said PM Modi while inaugurating the first India Toy Fair 2021.
On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi requested toy makers to also concentrate on creativity with less plastic and more environmentally friendly material.
Modi said, “We must be Aatmanirbhar in the toy industry as well as in the global market,” inaugurating the first India Toy Fair 2021. Modi said.
He regretted India’s 100 billion dollars stake on the world toy market was very limited and some 85% of the country’s toys were imported.
We must foster Indian craftsmanship,” he added.
The Prime Minister also interacted with traditional Chennapatnam, Varanasi and Jaipur players and urged them to innovate and increase their importance to traditional toys in light of children’s shifting tastes.
He requested the toy makers to produce toys that are green-friendly, appealing and imaginative.
In order to competitively advance home toy industries, the Premier says that the government prepared a National Toy Action Plan spanning 15 ministries.
The initiative aims to make India Aatmanirbhar part of the toy industry as well as to make domestic toys more present on the global market, he said.
Modi stressed that, “We will offer the world eco-friendly toys.” The Indian toy industry has culture, technology, ideas and competence.
