India is keeping a close watch on the spread of monkeypox infection cases. Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya said in Rajya Sabha today that eight cases have been detected in the country so far. Five of these patients have recently traveled abroad.
He said that the Center has issued guidelines to the states to prevent the spread of monkeypox. Mandaviya expressed confidence that Indian scientists would soon develop a vaccine to prevent monkeypox infection.
