United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has expressed grave concern over the growing military tensions between India and Pakistan. UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric made it clear that the global community cannot tolerate armed conflict between the two countries.
India’s Defence Ministry on Wednesday shared details of ‘Operation Sindoor’, which involved focused strikes on nine terror infrastructure sites in Pakistan and PoK. The action was carried out in response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.
The Indian Army clarified that utmost caution was exercised in this operation and no Pakistani military installation was targeted. Their aim was only to destroy terrorist infrastructure.
India took this action after 26 civilians were killed in Kashmir by The Resistance Front, a branch of Lashkar-e-Taiba. The United Nations Secretary General strongly condemned the attack and called the killing of civilians unacceptable.
The army posted a message on its official channel, “Justice done. Jai Hind,” which reflects the resolve behind the operation.
