Prime Minister Narendra Modi today dedicated the first indigenously built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant to the nation. The Prime Minister also unveiled the new flag of the Indian Navy. This flag, replaced by the colonial era flag, is a symbol of the rich heritage of the Indian Navy.
The PM said that INS Vikrant is a symbol of the rise of New India on the horizon of the world. He said that the dream of freedom fighters of a capable and strong India is coming true. Shri Modi said that this huge ship is unique in many ways. It is not just a warship but a classic example of hard work, talent and India’s commitment and growing influence in the 21st century. He said that if the goal is far, the journey is long, the sea is vast and the challenges are endless, then the solution to victory over them is Vikrant.
The Prime Minister said that when Vikrant is deployed for maritime security, many women sailors will also contribute to the security of the country. He said that the existing restrictions in this direction are being removed. Modi said that if every citizen of the country adopts the mantra of Vocal for Local in his life, then achieving the goal of self-reliant India will not be far off.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has described the conferment of a new flag to the Indian Navy by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today and the dedication of the indigenously built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant to the nation as a historic and golden moment.
