Kejriwal government fails on the issue of air pollution in Delhi, opposition uproar

The three-day session of the Delhi Legislative Assembly began today. Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs with face masks carrying oxygen cylinders reached the assembly premises protesting the alleged inaction of the Delhi government to curb excessive air pollution in the city. Taking cognizance of this, Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Jeol called it a security breach and asked the BJP MLAs to remove the cylinders.

Later, there was ruckus in the House on various issues raised by the ruling party legislators and the opposition legislators. These include the alleged power struggle between the AAP government and Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena.

The AAP MLAs came up to the podium raising slogans against the Lt. Governor. Amid the uproar, the Speaker adjourned the House till tomorrow. Earlier, the House observed silence for two minutes in memory of those who lost their lives in the plane crash in Nepal yesterday.
