UNESCO has included Durga Puja in Kolkata in the Intangible Heritage List. Durga Puja in Kolkata has been included in UNESCO’s Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity during the 16th session of the Intergovernmental Committee held in Paris, France.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a tweet message that it is an occasion of pride and joy for every Indian. He said that Durga Puja embodies Indian traditions and ethos.
